Georges Conference
Hey all,
Sorry that I haven't been blogging like I should. I have lots to say about writing 3,500 word magazine articles and some of the other ridiculousness that has been going on in the last couple of weeks.
For the moment, though, I am in the newsroom of the Harvard Crimson at the end of the first of two days of a conference for Ivy League (plus UMass and Howard) news editors. I'll have plenty to tell when I get back in regular Internet contact. Until then, hope y'all are having a good weekend.

Dear Editor Josh,
Why are you such a bad editor? Why does so much of your news staff dislike you? Or want to quit?
Dear anonymous,
Maybe it has nothing to do with Editor Josh?
Why does anonymity make people feel okay about being such huge douchebags?
ya, who is awake at 11 am on a saturday on this site to make such comments...?
the answer is obvious, ya? a member of the news staff, i would assume. it is not big news that many of them/us want to quit, and yes, it does have a lot to do with editor josh.
still. 11 am? is your attitude maybe contributing to people wanting to quit?
If you gave two shits about the paper, you'd take those concerns to the managing editor rather than venting them anonymously. Seriously, what the hell does that accomplish? It's hard to take your opinions very seriously when you don't have the decency to sign them.
Just wanted to note that there were quite a few non-Ivys at the conference ... Tufts, BU, Boston College, Wellesley, and Amherst just to name a few.
